Dynamic Grinding Wheel Balancers

Home   News   Products   Contents   Contact us   Company Information

Elaso AG manufactured all controllers for the formerly well-known Meyer Ltd. These original "Swiss Balancing Systems" were sold world-wide since the early seventies (1971). In 1992 Elaso AG bought the complete manufacturing rights. Since then the products were constantly improved and new models and features were added. External wheel flange mounted and spindle internal mounted balancing systems are available in various configurations. Balancing grinding wheels dynamically is a must, your benefits are numerous. Three different collectors allow signal transfer from the rotating head to the stationary part, such as slip ring and no-contact models. Structure-borne sound control (GAP), also known as acoustic emission (AE) control, reduces "air grinding" time, first contact indication, and offers crash protection. Why structure-borne sound control?

eb500 Dynamic Balancing Processor

Elaso eb500 balancing processor using existing flange weights to balance

eb500
Balance grinding wheels dynamically with the existing wheel flange weights. Eliminate the costly, inaccurate method of manual balancing, and let the operator see constantly the monitored rpm and unbalance in either displacement or velocity. During a balancing cycle the processor calculates the positions of the weights and displays it on the screen. The operator moves then the weights to the indicated positions. Nothing to learn, no strobe light, any operator can perfectly balance the grinding wheel thanks to the step by step guidance. Available as desktop unit or as insert module for machine panels.

eb2000 Dynamic Manual/Automatic Balancing System

Elaso eb2000 manual or automatic balancing system

eb2000
High quality balancing system at an economical price. Easily retrofitted to surface, peripheral, and universal grinders. LC-display guides operator through a fast manual balancing (pressing keys on controller) at working spindle speeds. Other features: no-contact power/signal transfer, constant unbalance monitoring, dependable and simple use, requires no maintenance.

EB2000A (Automatic)
Same system as above, in addition it offers an automatic balancing cycle.

ebg1500 Dynamic Balancing System

Elaso ebg1500 dynamic balancing system and structure-borne sound processor

ebg1500 series
A balancing and structure-borne noise system for highest demands. It can control up to two balancing heads and up to four structure-borne noise sensors (acoustic emission control). A complex interface allows to integrate the ebg1500 with a machine controller for a fully automatic controlled grinder. The structure-borne noise is displayed in relation to time and thus allowing an optimal process control. The noise parameter "amplification" is also adjustable via interface. The ebg1500 is highly sensitive and is able to recognize the contact between part and grinding wheel within a few micrometers infeed. Up to eight storable parameter records facilitate a quick change for recurring parts. Many configurations are available to suit any given machine.

eb4500 Dynamic Balancing System (also replacement controller)
Elaso eb4500 dynamic balancing system, replaces all older Meyer Ltd units

eb4500
The eb4500 allows manual or fully automatic in-process balancing of grinding wheels. As with all Elaso units the collector connects the balancing electronics with the rotating balancing head. Brush type or maintenance-free no-contact collectors are available. An electrically isolated interface allows to communicate with a machine controller. The machine controls therefore the balancing aspect without operator activity. The eb4500 may be incorporated into a 19" rack.

Please Note: The eb4500 balancing controller will replace all the original Meyer Ltd. systems, dating back more than 20 years. It will replace MB1001, MB1002, EB4001, EB4002, EB4003, EB4004, EB5003, EB5004, and EB5005.
For details please contact us.

eb6001 Dynamic Balancing System

Elaso eb6001 dynamic balancing and structure-borne sound system

eb6001 series
A balancing and structure-borne noise (acoustic emission control) system for highest demands. It is used for balancing grinding wheels, to increase production, and to monitor grinding processes. Short production runs and/or high accuracy requirements are areas where this unit is utilized. The eb6001 is highly sensitive and is able to recognize the contact between part and grinding wheel within a few micrometers infeed. This unit will integrate with a machine controller. Available with table top housing, with remote operator interface, or for panel mounting.

Please Note: The eb6001 is a direct replacement unit for the eb7000 series units. All components working together with the eb7000 are connector compatible. Even the mounting holes will fit.

ems1000 Dynamic Balancing System

Elaso ems1000 dynamic balancing, structural-sound processor

ems1000
The ems1000 is a modular designed balancing and structure-borne noise (acoustic emission control) system. It allows displaying the unbalance and structure-borne noise data on the machine's operator display. The software may be imbedded in the machine software and the unit would be controlled therefore with the standard operator keys of the machine. The control and visual display would be programmed by the user (machine builder) and would become an integrated part of the machine and its overall design. The modular design permits a cost benefitting solution for each application. Different bus types (Profibus, RS232, RS485) allow the ems1000 to easily communicate with the machine controller. The ems1000 accepts up to six structure-borne noise sensors (acoustic emission sensors) and up to two balancing heads.

eb7000 Dynamic Balancing System

Elaso eb7000 dynamic balancin and structure-borne sound system

eb7000 series
Microprocessor controlled unit for highest demands. Fully automatic balancing under production conditions, for commutator or no-contact power/signal transfer, simple manipulation through menu guidance. Continuous monitoring of balancing status. Digital & analog unbalance and rpm display. Manual balancing and neutral position cycle possible, GAP control for 1 or two sensors.

User interface detachable up to 20m (65') for straightforward integration in machine panels. Remote control with in/outputs and/or RS232 interface. Controller settings easily adjustable by user.

Please Note: This unit is no longer manufactured, repairs and parts available. One to one replacement controller is the eb6001.

usc4000 Structure-Borne Sound Controller      Why structure-borne sound control?

Elaso usc4000 structural-sound processor for grinding process control

usc4000
For process control on grinding and other machines utilizing structure-borne sound or acoustic emission (AE) control. On a grinding machine for example, the usc4000 reduces air grinding time, indicates parts positions, and is used for crash protection. The sound signal is fed into two separate channels allowing each to be separately adjustable for offset and amplification. Unit features extremely fast reaction time and offers three selectable filters for signal optimization. Unit interfaces with machine controllers and allows installation in machine cabinets or operator panels. OEM or after market installation.
